Renew Your Choo!

When I first got wind that Jimmy Choo was releasing a more affordable line at H&M, I'm quite certain I heard a faint whimper from the sad, soon to be neglected, Mossimo flats in my closet. I am a strong advocate in the bargain for your buck look and I will temporarily sacrifice fashion for comfort. I'm sorry, but I refuse to rock 6-inch heels on cobblestone at 7 a.m., it's Downton Crossing suicide. Of course, all that might change once Choo's new line hits H&M on November 14th. The line brings an edgy, quality, high-fashion style for the working woman's wallet. The collection includes everything from buttery leather dresses, animal print clutches, studded gladiator stilettos, and glittering heavy jeweled accessories. Here are some celebrities promoting Jimmy Choo for H&M at the launch party in Hollywood on November 3rd:

Paris & Nicky Hilton/ JimmyChoo for HM Designer Tamara Mellon with M.I.A.

Models in Jimmy Choo for HM
Nothing in the line is over $300, the most expensive of course winds up being my favorite at exactly $299. A pair of over-the-knee leather boots that you see M.I.A. wearing above. I love the over-the-knee look and have yet to find a quality, not too provocative pair. Of course I could count on Mr. Choo.

Flats $69.95 :: Basic Heels $99 :: Stilettos $129 :: Suede Stiletto & Snakeskin Boots $149

Blue Suede Dress $249 :: Gray Suede Dress $249

Belted Jumpsuit $69.95 :: Suede Fringe Dress $249

Leather Dress $249 :: Sequin Top $69.95 :: Leather Leggings $199

Leather Bag $299 :: Zebra Clutch $129

In all its chic cheapness, the much anticipated collection will surely draw a crowd come Saturday morning. H&M is ensuring as little chaos as possible by granting the first 160 customers a bracelet that gives a specific time for shopping in the designated Jimmy Choo area. This is no black friday, but put your game faces on because you do not want to miss out! Happy Choo-ing!

I'm Late, I'm Late, I'm Late, For a Very Important Date!

It seems it has been an unspoken rule within the Puritan roots of this nation, to avoid the concept of tardiness throughout our daily affairs. As technology has proven a tricky component to be 100% reliable, with electricity stopping and starting at its convenience, or the invention of hairdryers and their blasted ways of blowing fuses, clocks just sometimes fail us. Not to mention the idea that the "master" clock in your bosses office, a classroom, or your mom's antique watch, don't always tick exactly with the beat of your cell phone leaving you constantly late. In all your efforts to stay on time, whether it be leaving early, only to have the train be delayed, or setting your clocks 10 minutes ahead, until you figure out your own tricks, you wind up behind. So how do we settle this? We don't. Embrace that you are a lady of late-ness but do it with grace. How? With one of these stylish watches. And if your quick enough, set it back a few minutes to prove to your annoyed mother that you did leave with enough time to meet her for your manicure date.

1. Michael Kors- Brown Leather D-Ring Watch

2. Michael Kors- Horn Jet Set Watch
3. Fossil  - Chronograph White Dial

4. Kenneth Cole - Men's New York Rose Gold Color Chronograph

5. Timex- Military Watch

If it's not evident by the pictures, I adore big faced watches and if the women's collection aren't big enough for me I have no problem searching in the men's. The best spots to look? Through your Boyfriend, Dad, or Grandfather's jewelry. What's better than a gorgeous watch with added sentimental value?

Rabbit Rabbit!

A professor once told me to always say "Rabbit Rabbit" right when you wake up on the first day of each month and then walk to your destination listening to a soundtrack that will set the playlist of luck for the next four weeks.

So as the last golden leaves descend to their sidewalk graves and we bid Fall farewell, enjoy a brisk walk with some pleasant musical companions :) .

Filling Your Dreams to the Brim with Fright

Well, the magic of Minnie Mouse for Halloween did not come true this year. I trudged all over Newbury Street last Thursday after one of the most difficult weeks of school since the melodramatic freshman freak-outs 4 years ago. For the first time ever, I walked down one of my favorite streets in Boston in shopping despair. People were everywhere. American Apparel- packed with sparkly spandex snatching  College students. And Urban Outfitters?- line cutting, reminiscent of 1st grade gym class, was rampant! H&M had sold out of red mini skirts, a Minnie necessity, and their fitting room was over a 45-minute wait. Chaos and Crisis.

I found myself losing determination and finally caved to the retail catastrophe I was faced with. I walked home with only two sets of fake eye lashes (a long awaited fantasy to try out) and the most disgruntled attitude about my failing love for this Pagan holiday.

Luckily I have the most encouraging roommate. With the help of her convincing words, a glass of Champagne and a dance session with Weezy, we had worked me back up to celebrate the weekend! And what a weekend it was...

So I kept the mouse theme but reworked it from Minnie to something like Angelina Ballerina. My hair was used for the ears by creating two buns and I topped it off with a flower headband. The rest included a black leotard, a silver bubble dress that I folded down into a skirt, black tights, leg warmers and ballet flats. After some makeup and the success of those fake lashes, it was time to go! Here I am with a friend dressed as Patty Mayonnaise and my roommate as Dorothy form The Wizard of Oz.

If you find yourself questioning a costume, just buy an afro wig and you will never go wrong!

With High School friends dressed as Cindy Lou-Who from the Grinch and Snow White.
There were loads of other amazing costumes roaming the Boston streets this year including some of my favorites: A Snuggie, A Disco Stick, The Son of Man by Rene Magritte, Sookie from Trueblood, as well as some great Hunter S. Thompson and Lady Gaga costumes.

What did you dress up as?
